What stands out about this place is the beautiful wall and color selection. The green echoes how vegetarian and vegan focused the food selection is. It’s a great addition to Chinatown and if you are looking for a healthier option try this spot. The bathrooms are clean, staff are friendly. The food is delicious, I’ve order several times and recommend the spring rolls, and the orange chicken. My only critique would be to improve the lighting during the evening, make it brighter, so people can look in and lastly, add more plants.

I saw the reviews for Veggie House and was really excited to go here with my partner as we are both vegetarians. Unfortunately, there was LARVAE in our vegetable curry. The waiter was kind about it and the manager and waiter comped the meal (which we very much appreciated!!), but ultimately I wish I’d seen a review stating this and hadn’t gone at all. There were things in our water so we ordered bottled water and the plates weren’t totally clean, which, after finding a bug in our food, leads me to believe the sanitary practices here aren’t great. We reverse image searched the bug and found identical images of larvae and learned that if vegetables aren’t washed well enough, bugs can hang on. Honestly, the rest of the food wasn’t great either and there are much better vegetarian options in Chicago. We also tried the house tofu (unnecessarily spicy - leaves your lips tingling but doesn’t add to the flavor) and the Mongolian beef. We left feeling sick to our stomachs :( Again, grateful that the meal was comped, bug considered.

Very good food, quantity, service and staff. We loved every item we tried. This is heaven for vegan food at Chicago.

The food at Veggie House was decent, but it wasn’t enough to make me overlook the sticky tables and dirty chairs. It was also puzzling how my company and I sat before four individual tables of people, but they received their food before us. I enjoyed the food, but I probably won’t return.

This place is fabulous!!!! If u are looking to be treated with great levels of respect, smiles galore by the male waiter, yummy pot of hot jasmine tea, & such delicious yum food, enough for two. I had the spicy dumplings, house fried rice (extra spicy), & the entre of broccoli, carrot, & plant based beef (it was a little too salty, but water was the cure once I got home!). Sooo thankful. Peaceful environment. I was the first customer, & others came, in total 3 of us. Sooo cozy. No rush, no anger. I was more than happy to give a tip!! I definitely recommend this place, & give 10 stars!! By the way, cut thru the plaza. U get there faster.
